Answers to Legal Issues for Non-Lawyers

Coming Soon! This site is a place where discussion of legal topics will be available to people in a general way. The law is an interesting subject; people like to ask questions about things just out of curiosity, and many of the questions are the same or very similar. Since the subjects seem to be of interest to many, this is a place to answer those questions; one should not have to go to law school or hire a lawyer just for general interest about how a deed might function, for example. Law school, or even being an attorney, does not magically give a person all of the answers, and every legal mind has a difference experience within the law, so it is worth sharing difference responses which, much like law school, may bring up different points of view on those questions that do follow. If you have ever spoken with a lawyer, you know that the answers can be long-winded; in fact, they almost always are. It is much easier to plan and write out a response, so that an interesting part may be viewed, while the part you find boring can be skipped over without fear of insult. Once we get the site launched entirely, there will be various categories and sub-categories to choose from; not every area will be addressed, but articles will be added over time as we discover interesting topics, or in response to questions we have received. If you would like to submit a topic or general question, please send an email to us using the address below, and include a nickname if you would like to be referred to in the response (all questions will automatically be assumed asked in anonymity; we also may alter your question to make it more general if it seems too specific).

Be aware that the law is different everywhere and much of it varies from state to state, or even between cities or counties in the same state. We are currently knowledgeable mostly about the laws of Ohio, so most things will be defaulted to the laws of Ohio. Every person should know that since the laws can vary, and sometimes you may not know if what you're reading applies in your case, or in your area, you should always contact an attorney before taking any action in reliance on anything you read here or anywhere else online. Many attorneys all over the country provide free consultations and can address your specific situation with the relevant laws.

This website is not to be construed as legal advice or representation of any kind. Please contact an attorney if you need specific assistance, and if you feel you have a claim, you should check with someone right away, because many claims have a time limit that can cut off a valid claim if you wait too long.
